September 19, 2020 - Cody Leonard Wraps Up Second Straight Championship
stlms Whitaker jumped out to the early lead with the preferred top line.  Leonard was able to make the pass as the leaders approached lapped traffic.  Whitaker pulled off with power train issues.  Leonard held off hard charging restarts from Begnaud and Kulhanek.

Championship:  Leonard came in as the points leader with a lead of just over 7 finishing positions of Begnaud and 9 finishing positions over Theiss.  By winning, Cody Leonard sealed his second consecutive championship in as many seasons on the tour.

Austin Theiss opted for passing points to try and make a championship charge but came up short.  After Challenging Begnaud and moving into 3rd, Begnaud was able to get back by.  Theiss held on to 4th from there. Read More >>

September 6, 2020 - Tracy Denby Jr. Grabs RPM Speedway Victory
stlmsAdvancing two positions from his inside second row starting spot, Tracy Denby Jr. of Vidor, Texas, won Sunday’s Ronny Sigman Memorial at RPM Speedway. Denby outran sixth-starting Tyler Stevens for a $1,200 victory in the event co-sanctioned by the Southern Touring Late Model Series and the DFW Local Late Model Series.

August 28, 2020 - Southern Touring Late Model Series gearing up for return to Texana Raceway Park
stlmsAfter a two-year absence, the Southern Touring Late Model Series (STLMS) is gearing up for a return to the friendly confines of Texana Raceway Park (TRP) on Sat., Sept. 19. Veteran race official Owen Pittman now promotes TRP, and it is thriving once again.

Teams in the STLMS will love the layout and facility overall in the quaint town of Edna. For three years, TRP was run by Rachel and Kenny Densman, who purchased the track in 2017. The Densman's made several much-needed upgrades to the facility, making it more racer and fan-friendly. Read More >>

August 15, 2020 - Kip Hughes Wins Western Swing Finale at Route 66
Kip Hughes snuck by Nate Jantz on the highside on a lap 14 restart and was able hold on to the lead virtually unchallenged to the end.  With a 2nd on night 1 and a win on night 2, Hughes takes the title for the 2020 Western Swing and wins the custom belt buckle.  Nate Jantz led the 1st 13 laps. August 14, 2020 - Patrik Daniel Earns $2,000 in Western Swing Opener
stlms Nate Jantz took the early lead and pulled to an 8-10 car length lead but got bottled up in lapped traffic on lap 8. (Michael Diers Photo)

On lap 10, Patrik Daniel passed Jantz and both lapped cars around the top.

The one and only caution waived on lap 19 when Zach "Double" Nickell fell out with mechanical difficulties.

August 11, 2020 - Annual 'Western Swing' up next for Southern Touring Late Model Series
stlmsIn a first-ever partnership with the Sooner Late Model Series, officials at the Southern Touring Late Model Series (STLMS) are excited to announce their 4th annual Western Swing will take place this weekend, Aug. 14-15, in Lubbock and Amarillo, Texas. (Bobby Thomas Photo)

On Friday, Aug. 14, the two series will combine to invade West Texas Speedway in Lubbock for a $2,000-to-win contest. On Saturday, teams will make a visit to the famed Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo for another $2,000-to-win affair. It's a pair of races with tremendous potential. Read More >>

July 18, 2020 - Bo Day Wins STLMS vs. Local Late Models at HOT Speedway
stlmsBo Day of Greenville, Texas, held off a hard-charging Beau Begnaud to capture a $1,500 payday in the DFW Local Late Model Series vs. Southern Touring Late Model Series event at Heart O' Texas Speedway on Saturday.

May 30, 2020 - Bo Day Sweeps STLMS Weekend with Abilene Victory

stlmsThird starting Bo Day of Greenville, Texas, took the lead on an early restart and went on to capture Friday's Southern Touring Late Model Series (STLMS) main event at Monarch Motor Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas. Day pocketed $1,000 in winning the 30-lappers co-sanctioned with the Sooner Late Model Series. Read More >>

May 21, 2020 - Southern Touring Late Model Series Kicks of 2020 Season May 29-30
stlmsThe wait is over for the Southern Touring Late Model Series (STLMS) 2020 season.

The tour will oficially kick off the 2020 season the weekend of May 29-30. A visit to Monarch Motor Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas is set for Friday, May 29. On Saturday, May 30, the action will shift to Abilene Speedway in Abilene, Texas.

Both events will be co-sanctioned with the Sooner Late Model Series.

April 10, 2020 - State of STLMS Season on Hold
stlmsIn response to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the start of the Southern Touring Late Model Series (STLMS) is currently on hold.

We apologize for any inconvenience. We will continue to monitor the situation in coordination with federal, state, local, and public health officials, along with information that is based on guidelines from the CDC.

October 26, 2019 - STLMS Finale Rained Out; Cody Leonard Clinches the Championship
1With Mother Nature claiming the 2019 STLMS season finale at Lone Star Speedway that was scheduled for Saturday, October 26, our year is now complete.

Congratulations to Cody Leonard for sealing his 2019 Southern Texas Late Model Series championship in the Swenson Racing Shocks entry. Cody picked up two feature wins and had an average finish of 2.17 for the season. Great job to Cody and the whole Swenson Racing crew!

Cody also represented well racing with other series in 2019 by finishing a strong second two nights in a row when Texas guys were invited to race with the Sooner Series, and he locked into the A main both nights from a heat race at Texas Motor Speedway with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Late Model Series.

September 28 , 2019 - Cody Leonard Lands in 105 Speedway Victory Lane
1Cody Leonard rumbled to his second Southern Touring Late Model Series (STLMS) victory of the 2019 season on Saturday night by wiring the field at 105 Speedway (Cleveland, Texas). Doug Begnaud and Robbie Starnes completed the podium finishers.

The STLMS next returns to action on Saturday, October 26 at Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas).

August 17, 2019 - Colton Horner Sweeps STLMS Texas Weekend
1Katy, Texas racer Colton Horner stayed red hot over the weekend in Southern Touring Late Model Series (STLMS) competition.

He extended his winning streak to three with a Friday night triumph at West Texas Raceway (Lubbock, Texas) followed up by a Saturday night trip to the Winner's Circle at Route 66 Motor Speedway (Amarillo, Texas)
